Bill's Ambitious Vinyl Transcription Project

The account of my journey through a collection of about 500 Vinyl LPs from my radio days, and general collecting. The process entails transcribing these albums into digital form for the purpose of adding them into my iTunes library. This will preserve the music, and in some cases, spoken word recordings before they are lost. The random nature of the listings results from blindly selecting from five boxes of recordings in an attempt to keep the process an adventure.

Testing Full System

With the power supply on board, and all the components installed, the DAK system can be evaluated. After spending time to adjust the levels on the DAK 2800-PC:

on the sound card input: And The DAK Wave MP3 Editor PRO v7.1b:

a test is performed. The first side of Album 21 was done with the Behringer U-PHONO UF0202 line/phono to USB adapter. The second side with the DAK system line/phono to line input to the sound card. By combining the two halves into one final file the sound can be compared between the two systems.
